1. Teach Children About the Positives of Flossing

It is best to tell children flossing removes food particles that get trapped between teeth so that cavities do not form. When teeth are healthy, painful decay will not be a problem, and a smile will remain beautiful. When children comprehend the benefits of flossing, they will continue the practice into adulthood.

2. Establish a Solid Oral Health Routine

  1. I really like what you had to say here about finding the best way to help your kids develop good flossing habits. Just as you explained, if you can help them understand why you want them to floss, they are probably more likely to do so. My son does not like to floss because his gums usually bleed, and so I need to tell him that if he flosses every day, he will not have to worry about it hurting.
