Meet the Team
Karen Putnam
Office Manager
Karen has been with Dr. Walters since 2003. As the office manager, she takes care of most of the administrative duties in the office, including billing and dental insurance. Karen helps patients navigate the sometimes tricky insurance claim process, ensuring they receive optimal coverage and benefits. Karen is also the Implant Coordinator for Dr. Walters. Karen is originally from upstate New York. Karen’s son graduated from Miami in May and lives in Kentucky while working in Cincinnati. Karen’s daughter is a junior at the University of Cincinnati as an athletic training major. Karen enjoys all sports and spending time with her friends and family.
Lorrie Geary
Front Desk Receptionist
Lorrie has been working in dentistry for over 30 years. She started her career in dentistry at The Ohio State University Faculty Practice as a dental assistant. She eventually moved over to the administrative side of dentistry and has been with Dr. Walters since 2007. When Lorrie is not working she likes to crochet, bowl, and cheer for the Buckeyes. Lorrie has two daughters and a 2-year-old granddaughter.
Deleana Thompson
Expanded Function Dental Assistant
Deleana has been with Dr. Walters since 1995 as his EFDA. This extra training allows her to place restorations in our office. Deleana has two teenage boys who love fishing, basketball, and baseball. In her free time, she enjoys shopping and spending time with her boys.
Adella Jones
Expanded Function Dental Assistant
Adella worked with Dr. Walters at his first practice on Broad Street. She has now been with Dr. Walters here in Hilliard since 2008. She completed her Expanded Function Dental Assistant training in 1991 at The Ohio State University, and has been placing restorations for the last 23 years! Adella loves spending time with her husband Doug and their children. She also enjoys long walks, watching movies and spending warm summer days by the pool with her kids and the two family dogs.
Angela Sampson
Dental Hygienist
Angela worked as a dental assistant in both a general and orthodontic practice for two years while earning her dental hygiene degree. She graduated in 2002 from Columbus State with an Associates degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. In February 2011 Angela furthered her career by earning her certification for dental anesthesia. She began working with Dr. Walters in 2008 and enjoys educating patients on all treatment available to enhance their dental health. Angela loves spending time with her husband and little girl. She enjoys traveling, going to country concerts, and watching movies.
Susan Barrickman
Dental Hygienist
Susan is the newest member of Dr. Walters’s team. Susan is originally from Springfield and moved here to attend The Ohio State University. She graduated from the College of Dentistry with a degree in dental hygiene in 1995. She currently lives in Hilliard with her husband and two girls.
